Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience oh Jesus Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 New King James Version
My thoughts have wandered for a lifetime. Anything, anyone, a word or a scene can bring me to a moment in my life and have me going through the whole scene of the time, including flowing with thoughts of what should have happened, what should have been said, or perhaps the possibilities of different outcome scenarios and then eventually leading into another moment and following through with the same thought practices. Whilst one’s attention is distracted one isn’t paying attention to one’s environment and being useful in the kingdom in aiding to help set the captives free in some small instance.
None of this is helpful when one is in the midst of spiritual warfare and needs to keep one’s eyes focused on Jesus and on fire in the Holy Spirit. When the flame starts to kindle so does one’s prayer life, spoken words and authoritative actions start to dwindle. I find it is easier to be more aware of my environment and its happenings when I focus on the Lord Jesus in consistent prayer and worship especially when under the antagonism of the enemy and Satan’s workers. I find I have more disciplined control of my action and words when in a place of constant focus on the Lord Jesus and Heavenly Father when I pray and worship. I have found it invites a more pleasant place to be for all who visit the room space.
Quite simply I will have a song or the Lord’s prayer or simple prayer that I silently take to the Lord all day to keep me focused on Jesus and that which is going on in my surrounds and shutting down the disruptive thoughts that are not fruitful and lead to a falling away from developing the practice of praying without ceasing.
Oil in the lamp, don’t let it run out
Towards the end of the first week in November I was truly worn down and had nothing left. I lay on my bed one afternoon wanting to sleep yet awake yet also having a body that seemed incapable of getting up of the bed due to being zapped off everything it had. As I lay on my bed, I heard an unseen figure enter my room and stand by my bedside and I heard this one speak, “Lee-Ann get up.” Yet I could not get up, I was awake but my body refused to seize the day.
It reminded me of the bridegroom parable where some of the virgins weren’t ready at the time of the bridegroom’s arrival as they were off purchasing oil for their lamps and so they were locked out. I thought If that was Jesus I have been left behind because I was not ready when He came like a thief in the night. I had left myself empty of the Holy Spirit infilling presence from all the running around in the various communities I had been visiting and the ever-changing environments and crowds were leaving me spiritually depleted of my Lord Jesus Christ’s presence of the Holy Spirit.
I had not upped my prayer devotion time with this increased changing environment workload. Presently it was not enough and was not sustaining me through all the places I was visiting and all that was being witnessed. I had nothing left to sup with the Lord and chose to rest on my bed as I could not lift myself to sit and prop myself up in the presence of whoever made the statement, “Get up Lee=Ann”, woah I am not a very disciplined warrior, I had run out of steam in the middle of a battle. Yet I also am not to speak to the unseen. Though I do acknowledge and be forever seeing and hearing what is going on, even if I do not understand it. This led later to the next phase effects of depletion, during burn out, usually the tears follow from being so worn down. It is never a good result to let oneself become so depleted of the Lord Jesus infilling of the Holy Spirit. I had nothing left, I was wiped out. I needed communion to restore me quicker as I had in times past where I received it anywhere between two to four times a week when in great spiritual warfare battles whilst in the places the Lord sent me into as Jesus had me stand my ground where I was planted. I find the Holy Spirit’s infilling leaches from us when we are about the Lord’s work as we enter strongholds of environments with the opposing spiritual presence.
The quickest way I have found in topping up is receiving the Eucharist when one falls under the line. Remain connected to the body of Christ and aid in maintaining a healthy equilibrium of body, soul and mind topped up sufficiently with the Holy Spirit. I also find daily time out with the Lord’s prayer and quiet devotion of songs of praise and worship brings us rest in the Lord Jesus presence and allows for His glory to fall upon us and aid in keeping us strengthened. Though I am finding with the changes in the communities to more of a secular living lifestyle and even more so the many practicing in the occult I am having to spend more time with the Lord in these disciplines to maintain a shalom frame of mind and body.
Don’t let the Lord catch us sleeping when He comes like a thief in the night because we were so worn down from the onslaught that comes at us and we failed to renew each time. It is not easy. I have been overcoming Satan and his workers of inequity for 20 years and disciplining myself to get back up in the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet it takes am enormous amount of time to stay well and whole in the Lord Jesus with the world consistently changing our environment to an unhealthy one. Be ready at any hour.
Watch therefore. for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore, you also be ready, for the Son of Manis coming at an hour you do not expect. Matthew 24:42 New King James Version But the end of all things is at hand, therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 1 Peter 4:7 New King James Version
Do the work the Lord has sent you to do. Do not allow family or those sent by Satan to wear you thin where one no longer gets the work done and or is forever playing catch up with the message and struggling to survive. I am failing my Lord for I have allowed these ways to affect that which I have been asked to do. If the Lord Jesus says, “stay awake.” Then stay awake for the sake of the kingdom and those we love. These days Satan is deceiving many into the New Age System of a sensation of overwhelming ‘love’ and opening the new candidate’s spiritual eyes to be able to see the many colours of the beings in a hidden realm, creating a misplaced awe and wonder of what is before them. Bringing them to a place of unguarded, misplaced security, as I perceive Satan and his workers waiting for the right opportunity to harm the soul and quench the flame of the Holy Spirit within. Even worse as I do not understand these realms, I fear that our loved ones are being held captive there whilst a doppelganger type being is sent back to our worldly realm deceiving us that is our loved one.
Those partaking in such love festival meets come out with darkened dull eyes and have lost the sparkle and light that was there prior to seeking these New Age Ways. Before one’s eyes and body new sensations and beauty are offered as the trap is laid before the thief jumps to take down its prey that has been lolled into a false sense of security and is unguarded. Be wary many family loved ones and members in our communities are falling for this. Their lamps are being extinguished by seeking ways and walking straight through Satan’s lair. We know not what hour the thief comes. It may be at an hour as one sleeps that we will be called to be awake and be watchman in prayer for the saving of those we love. Do not be so exhausted that one is physically and mentally unable to remain awake as the Lord Jesus has asked one to be.
Pray yourself without ceasing
One of the best advices I received from a priest was to “pray yourself’. The best action acknowledgment was from a priest who said ‘amen’ after each statement he agreed with when in general conversation with another. A practice I started to follow too. Yes, we are directed to call upon the members in the body of Jesus Christ to pray together and it is written that when two or more come together in agreement in prayer Jesus is with us. Yet I have found usually I am under spiritual assault as I lay on my bed or I am out and about and there is no other church member nearby.
